On a sunny day at Renziehausen Park, families, friends, and community members came

together for our very first D&A Support Group Picnic in the Park—and what an unforgettable day it was! The event was filled with laughter, kids’ games, delicious food, and meaningful conversations that celebrated recovery and strengthened community bonds.

This picnic wasn’t just about fun (though there was plenty of that!); it was about creating a safe space where families affected by addiction could connect, find support, and share hope. Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed activities that brought everyone together while also highlighting the resources available to those on the recovery journey.

We were

honored to welcome Angela Elliston from Allegheny County’s Coalition for Recovery and Carmen Capozzi from Sage’s Army as our guest speakers. Their words reminded us of the power of community, the importance of compassion, and the strength that comes from standing together. Their powerful messages left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.

💛 Thank you to everyone who came out and made the day so special. Together, we are building a stronger, healthier community—one filled with hope, healing, and connection.

Stay tuned for more opportunities to get involved. Until then, let’s keep lifting each other up!
